Our 2013 meetings have been set and will be held at Practice Plus in Little Rock.  We are very appreciative of the use of their facility!

Thanks to Connie Stubbs, CPC (our 2013 Treasurer) for these excellent instructions for parking and finding the conference room:

Parking is first come first serve,  there should be some spots available on the top lot to the left as you come in or all the way back to the right (may want to use 2nd parking lot entrance for this lot).  If no spots are available,  you may park on the curbside of right and left lots.

Take front entrance of building, elevators will be on the right,  Go to 2nd floor.  Turn to the right off the elevator and the first right down a long hallway.  The conference room is the next to last and last doorways to the right.  (1st doorway will be a small corridor, the conference room is on the left, while the break room/cafeteria is straight ahead).

There is also always someone at the front desk when you come off the elevator to the left that can help.  We'll have a sign up pointing you in the right direction too!

The restrooms are when you come off the elevators straight ahead (2 separate bathrooms). The main restrooms are down the same hall way,  right before the "wooden flooring" to the right.  Men's on left, ladies' on right with water fountain there also!

2012 Christmas Party & Meeting

Officer Meeting Tonight

Tonight the current and upcoming officers will get together to map out 2013.  We'll be talking about meeting day and location changes.  We'll also be setting exam dates and hopefully the Fall Workshop date.  There will be several things the chapter will need to vote on at our December 6th meeting so you won't want to miss it.  Also, there will be food and a great speaker!

A Payer's Medical Director's Perspective
Speaker: Dr. Stephen Sorsby, MD

Dr. Sorsby will tell us what his role is as Medical Director of QualChoice. He will tell us his responsibilities, and the role he plays in paying or denying claims. He will open the floor for comments, and will cover many important and interesting topics that will help us in coding. Bring your coding books. Dr. Sorsby will join us for our holiday meal before he begins the educational component of our meeting.

The Searcy Building is in the Westlake Corporate Complex Directions: Executive Center Drive is located off of Shackleford Road, across from the Heart Hospital.  Turn onto Executive Center Drive from Shackleford at the light that is across the street from the Heart Hospital. There is signage for the Searcy Building, which will be on the left side of the street. Take the elevator down to the plaza level. Turn right and follow the hall past the water fountain to Room 4, which will be on the left. You will find our AAPC group of coders.

Working Together

2013 hasn't even started and I'm happy to report that we are already working with the Little Rock Central Coders to coordinate our schedules.  We're going to make sure that we are not giving exams during the same month which will give members more chances to take exams.

2013 Officer Elections

Tomorrow we will hold 2013 officer elections at our 5:30pm meeting.  If you are unable to make the meeting, you may vote online.  An email went out to our members last night containing the link to the ballot.

2013 Officer Nominations

Don't forget that you have until Friday, October 19th to nominate officers for 2013!

The Little Rock Arkansas Chapter of the AAPC will hold 2013 Officer Elections at our November 1st meeting.  We are accepting nominations until October 19th.  You may nominate yourself or someone else here.  If you are nominating someone other than yourself, we will contact that person to find out if they accept the nomination.

By October 27th you will receive an email containing the nominees.  You may cast your ballot online or at the November 1st meeting.  Ballots will be counted at the meeting and the winners will be announced.
